Dark chocolate sauce

This has just been improvised and found serendipitous. Not only is it quick and easy to make, people will be fighting to get at the last drop in the bowl. It’s that good.

  • 150 g good quality dark chocolate
  • 100 ml semi-skimmed milk
  • 1 generous dessert spoonful (aka Large Dollop) of honey
  • (optional) a pinch of whatever extra flavouring you fancy – nutmeg, cardamom, chili, wasabi, cinnamon etc

Bung the lot into a small saucepan and heat very gently, stirring until the chocolate is melted and the sauce is smooth. Do not allow to boil.

Use as required: ice cream, profiteroles, pancakes, whatever. Sheer bloody heaven. I’m off to make more.
