I’ve decided to start a collection of probably pointless but amusing (well, I find them amusing) scientific oddities. Make of this what you will.
To kick things off, here is the Irrational Numbers Search Engine. It does what it says on the box: it helps you search everybody’s favourite irrational numbers – Pi, E, the Square Root of Two and Phi (the Golden Ratio) – for the first occurrence of a numeric string, or display a specified number of digits from a given starting position.
Like today’s date or your Mum’s birthday. Significant stuff like that. Enjoy. Cut yourself a slice of Pi.
